Not My Supreme Court…Again.

So last year, I spent 5 months (was it that long?) working on a Supreme Court quilt in response to many of the decisions coming out of the court that just didn’t seem to make any sense. NO…I’m not making another one…yet. Nope. Not soon. I need to process. But I did remember that I never posted this video of the quilt before I mailed it off to its new owner. I actually had 4 videos and had to put them all together and make sure it mostly made sense. So I’ve done that…finally. Seriously, these videos are from January. It was a rough school year.

At some point, I’ll maybe write a post with pictures, but this is a pretty solid summary of what I was thinking about when I made it.

And no, they’re not doing any better these days as far as I’m concerned.

Here’s the quilt in the video.

  1. The events in your country scare the shit out of me, despite the fact I love in Australia.
That man is truly, truly terrifying. What is the hold he has over everyone?

    1. I wish I knew the answer to that. Really. I do. Some level of feeling unsafe and he makes them feel safe? Ignorance? It’s terrifying on this end as well.

  2. Thank you for the video showing/explaining everything! I had followed this creation, and knew a lot of it, but some things slipped past me. I had not seen the running figures, which I associated with “emergency exit” signs until you mentioned the highway signs (ick). I missed the “slippery slope” which is brilliant. There’s more, so again, thank you.

  3. Thank you for the commentary…I followed along as you made it, but I had forgotten about some of the details. And thank you for making such wonderful, detailed quilts that comment on the state of our world.
