The exhibit I participated in back in June will be the Workshop Gallery on Ray Street in North Park (San Diego) for the month of August, opening August 11, 6-10 PM, during the monthly Ray at Night, where a variety of galleries open up for the evening. Inspire/Respond is an exhibition of artwork from adults with developmental disabilities who are involved with the St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center and the Feminist Image Group (FIG), of which I am a member.
The Workshop Gallery is at 3825 Ray Street and is open by appointment (619.861.0901), so Saturday the 11th is your best chance to see the exhibit this time around. My pieces and Mitch’s painting were chosen for the invitation for this round of the exhibition. We picked art by the artists from St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center and then made pieces in response to theirs.
I do plan to be at the opening, at least for most of it (I will have to eat at some point)…so stop by.
